Play around with your stopping habits and get back to us.
For example, come in sorta hot on the brakes and see if that does anything. then come in nice and easy adn see what happens.
I too have a 90 adn have had some clunks so I may be able to help you out a bit.
My biggest clunk was coming when I came to a full stop under substantial braking force, then once I'd release the brake I'd get a clunk. This was from the slip yoke splines being worn out adn this was causing the driveline to be in a negative bind adn once I released the brake the driveline would un-bind causing a pretty loud clunk.
If this is the case, you can remove the driveshaft and put some grease inside the slip yoke adn re-install the shaft. This will fix the clunk for a temp fix, but the grease will run off and the clunk will come back.
But that may not even be your problem. Let me know if I can help some more.
