clunkin/clicking while driving?

When Im driving i hear clunking and clicking repeatidly coming fromw hat seems to be the rfont axle. What could this be, i was only going about 25-30mph. Any ideas at all, sorry if im being super vague, i have no idea how to be more specific.

Do you have auto hubs?

easy way to find out is securly lift truck on all fours and start her up and put it in gear and listen but have someone in the truck to shut it down if something happens, you might want to check your front wheel bearings, dose it only do it in 4x4 or are you hearing it in 2wd could be loose ujoint caps and the drive shaft has a little slack

2 wd on the street , bearings and brakes recently replaced like a month ago. manual hubs. thanks.

check bearings anyway just lift front of truck and grb the wheel at the top and bottom and see if theres any play i replaced mine once and did not realize i had broken the set pin on one of the nuts which allowed it to losen

Is it clicking/clunking when you press & let off the gas or is it doing it all the time?

If it's when applying the gas, is your tcase braced? If not, maybe you're hearing the tranny/tcase moving around.

no just constant throttle to get it to cruise steadily at about 25mph or so

I have the same problem in my '89 Suburban 3/4 ton. The problem occurs below 25mph and doesn't matter if it's in 2WD, 4WD, hubs locked or unlocked. If I apply the brakes, the sound goes away. I have found the problem to be the front caliper bushings that the pins go through to hold the caliper on. I replaced the bushings once and the sound went away. Unfortunately, about a month or two later the sound came back again. I don't know what is causing the bushings to go bad to create this problem, but any other ideas would be appreciated.

Mine was doing that just the other day......I figured Ahh what the heck it can wait till Saturday......diving to work on thursday and some dude in a little escort was honking and highbeaming me......i pulled over and i'll be damed if my entire Hub wasnt on fire.........the locking switch melted ...I havent taken it apart yet but it loook all F*(&ed up ......
