Top Arrow:
Caliper pin is hitting U-bolt plate. Need to remove to install pin.

Middle Arrow:
Not enough clearance between caliper bracket and disc. I cannot fit brake pads.

Bottom Arrow:
Dana 60 locking ring doesn't fit right on 14bff spindle.

Not indicated. The caliper bracket is too narrow to fit the caliper. The body gets stuck between the caliper mounting pin areas. Mounting the caliper the way it is, would cause it not to float and awful pad wear.

I think these spacers need to be smaller. I haven't measured them, but does anyone know what seems to work?

I bought this spindle nut assembly from Rockauto. I had to narrow the inside tab because it wouldn't fit in the spindle groove. It's hardened, I think, so taking material off wasn't easy. The outside tabs are also too big and would interfere with the hub, so those got ground down.

Where did you get the brackets?

The u-bolt plate's design is causing the issue with the pin, I would grind a notch in them rather than having to remove them every time you have to deal with brakes.

Been there, done that :haha:

There are several different thicknesses of spacers needed depending on what rotors you are running. For making the locking ring fit, I use a 3" cutoff wheel to make quick work of the grinding. Sometimes you have to grind on the inside of the bracket to make the caliper fit in too.

I got the brackets a couple years ago from EBay. The seller doesn't appear to be doing any business anymore. I will grind the notch in the plate, I need to lop off the corner near the shock too, as they will meet @ full droop.

I just wanted to get one side done after coming home from work. It's been a crappy week so far. This happened Monday......

Damm women drivers!

That caliper bracket looks like poop. Throw that bracket away and get one from ORD or DiY4x. I have Kerts and am very happy with it.

Sucks about your lowrider though

Nope, Armenian in new Benz. He's going to blame me, but it's not possible. The poor lady that hit the back of him, also a new Benz suv, is probably going to go after both of us. It's a long story and I foresee a sh1t storm.

bracket, less all the other stuff

The bolt is an easy fix. Lift the truck by the bumper or frame so the leaf springs drop out of the way

:doah: you had me for a second there, but the brakes drop with everything else, so I don't think that would work. Was hopeful and :doah:why didn't I think of that, but I'm just going to cut a notch.

Haha..disregard that. I was just out of bed. Sometimes things look obvious but really make no sense at all. :doah:
I obviously didn't think that one through...at all

my caliper brackets look the same as yours, if you want, I can measure the spacers for you. Everything on my axle works fine. I just did a speedi sleeve on mine and had this all apart to clean the gear oil that was all over everything.

Spacers should be 3/4" long.

Is the bracket rotated 45*? in other words caliper is sitting at the 1:30 position?

Yes. The spacers look to be 3/4". I say "look to be" because I haven't touched or looked at it since the other day. I think the spacers should be 5/8 to make the pad fit. Unless these pads are HUGE, I believe the spacer to be the problem.

Doesn't matter Kert, already ordered some from you.

You should have just got my whole truck for parts:haha:

That sucks...I had damage on mine almost identical, but on the opposite side and no bed damage. Too bad you are on the other side of the country, I have the 3rd door and driver side door in the garage.

son of a bitch :doah:

mine is a 1 inch spacer under the bracket.are your brackets side specific?on mine i flipped the bracket and switched it from side to side to clear the correct way and have it line up.maybe try that and or just use kerts setup as i see you have already bought it.the pads look the right width.
