I think my fork has come off the pivet ball thing or the to bearing. Anyway to tell for sure without major work? I can't seem to get my head in a place to see anything through the fork slot or under up through the access.
Its bright out now, so I'm gonna try again tonight with a flashlight and a mirror. Any suggestions or advice?:confused:

Really don't want to pull trans ect.

You should be able to see if the linkage has come apart... I had the "adjustment rod" actually go through the clutch fork once and had to use a pair of vise grips to hold the rod from going through the hole for the rest of the trip home.

The other option is that the linkage that attaches to the frame with the grease fitting has loosened to point that it is no longer attached...

Just my guesses, you can easily see these pieces by laying on your back and looking up on the driver's side of the tranny.

Why do you think that your fork has come off the ball "thing" or the throwout bearing?

No warning or indication. It started on a very cold night(-35) and I didn't let it warm up, put in reverse, let clutch out quick and a loud chatter began. Pushed clutch in and it wouldn't release. Too cold to mess with it than so, started in gear and shifted without clutch home. The clutch chattered loud, but would quiet down some with pedel depressed about half. Linkage is fine I unhooked it to try to see in the fork hole.

Any Ideas??

Ill bet that you have a blown bearing, in which case I would get a new clutch since it comes with a bearing anyways. That way you have one less part that can burn up
at short notice.

You could also have a broken input bearing retainer that the TO slides on.
