I am converting my k5 with a 6.2 Detroit and 700r4/np208 to a 5.9 cummins and a nv4500/np205. In looking for a new pedal assembly I think it has to be a 85 and newer to have the hyd. clutch and it needs to be from a 6.2 diesel so that it has the hydro assist brake pedal, or does it not matter on the brakes hydro/vacume brakes. thanks

i know where one of thee is all nice and pulled already..I dont think my dad needs it since he found a 3 speed blazer..

The brake pedal is the same for hydro or vacuum assist.

Ahh ... no. Well, yes and no. The pedal proper is the same, but the hole for the stud that holds the plunger to the brake booster in a different place. I've heard that some levers have holes for both, but the ones I've seen are set for one or the other.

On the other hand, I think you can mix-n-match; I know on the autos the vacuum boost and hydroboost pedals are interchangeable... so you may be able to use your existing brake pedal, replacing the one in your new assembly, should that be required.

Thanks for the replies, I thought they might be different. If it is hard to find the correct one I will have to modify one.
