hey guys, getting real close to doing the motor swap in my truck, was wondering if anyone had any good recommendations for a clutch. it'll have a mild vortec headed 400 with some bolt ons, a stock hydro 465 and stock rears (until $h1t hits the fan). i got the el-cheapo jegs gm licensed 400 flywheel and it says it takes an 11 inch clutch, would an 11 inch clutch be good enough? could a 12 inch fit? its a daily driver with regular trips down the beach. i dont want to have to do this twice, at least i can pre assemble everything. also what brands everyone using? i hear alot of guys like centerforce (kinda pricey) and i've heard zoom and luc (carquest brand?) are decent. any thoughts on which direction to go in are greatly appreciated, thanks -Josh

Luk Pro-gold, 12" diaphram clutch. Yes the 12" will fit. I couldn't find Luk locally when I did mine behind my old 6.2. I went with a Hays 12.25" Diesel puller clutch. Also good. Centerforce is also good, but you do pay for the name and gimmicky weights. Never understood the need for those on a 4x4 though. It's not often our rigs see 7000+ rpm launches on slicks.
