have an 86 k5 with a sm465, i bought a 69-79 gen 350 motor. what size clutch do i need? any clue if i need a 10 or a 11 or even a 12 inch clutch? i know it would probably be easier to just go out and measure but i was wondering why would there be different sizes and what would be the best.

11 in is most common, just need everything to match whichever size you get. Not sure which applications it happens on but the can be clearanc issues with the 12 in clutch

I don't think there are any clearance issues at all. I run a 12" clutch from Hays and it all fits nicely within the bell.

I say run the 12" as the larger diameter clutches are going to have the best holding power.
