Since I have got my truck it never had a clutch splash guard...

So do I need one? I bought one from Classic Parts of America (aka Chevy Duty)

I ran mine without one for about 2 years. Of course my T/O bearing seized up on the third or fourth trip in sand and mud too. I can not say for sure that this did or did not contribute to it's untimely demise. I have put one on it since replacing the bearing though. Figured it couldn't hurt and it should keep a little more mud and sand running it versus without it.

The part number is 90-918. It says its for a 73-84 which is basically anything without a hydrolic clutch.

My TO bearing is defineately on its last legs and seems to get worse everytime I go wheelin...

I initially left mine off due to putting a mini starter on. It left a large hole for water and dirt to get in and a very small drain for it to escape. I left it off with the thought that at least with it off the water and dirt could escape faster and easier. Now I am going to try it with it on for a while. We will see I guess.

what is i have a bellhousing from a non hydro set up. but im running hydro. think i can still use that shield? aka novak setup

well i guess if i got it i could make it work. thanks for the web addy cool site.
