Clutch won't disengage - 1987 GMC 1-ton trail rig

no idea. The springs aren't marked. Doesn't matter anyway because I'm going 4-link with it.

no new pics yet.. but I've got a couple questions... first off.. where can I get a pair of motor mount bolts? the long (maybe 5") ones that go through the whole thing... I asked at advance auto and the workers looked at me like I was crazy... second question is this: its got the sm456 in it with the 205 tcase... sitting around the garage I've got a turbo 350 tranny and a 203 transfer case that were bolted together... can I use that tranny or will it be a MAJOR pain? and if thats the case, can I just buy a th400 that was bolted to a 205 and have it bolt up or?? need help bad! thanks guys!!

For the motor mount bolts, just pick some up at the hardware store, I would go with a Grade 5. As far as the tranny, it will be the same switching to a TH350 as it will a TH400. Not really much to changing it out other than the crossmembers maybe. I would personally stick with the 465.

funny you should say that, cuz I just went out and bought the clutch kit and everything to use the stick tonight, so it looks like I'll be usin the manual tranny... I have to pick up the flywheel in the morning, and then the motor and tranny and t-case can all go in and it will be able to power itself

swaping to a 400 is more involved... you also have to hook up the pedal for kickdown...and the vacum line.

Doesnt matter though cause your staying with the stick:D

yeah... 400$ in parts later... god I wanted to cry in advance auto haha...

they had to order the flywheel, that will be in tomorrow, so once I pick that up the drivetrail will be able to be re-assembled and put together... only thing I'll really be waiting on to get the thing "mobile" is the fuel cell...the tank is NASTY and a little leaky

motor and tranny and transfer case are in.. old fuel tank is out, waiting on the cell to get here to hook all that stuff up. just need to throw the driveshafts in and the work under the truck is done. here are some pics...

kind of hard to take any pics other than that to show the work I've done.. in the pics the carb and air cleaner are just resting on there... I need some type of exhaust manifolds.. I have a set of headers that came from my trans am and they won't fit between the frame and the motor... who woulda thought that there is more room in a trans am than there is in this truck, when this truck came with a big block.... whatever...

some new parts came the other day!!! :D

so no one knows what the difference between a regular sierra and a high sierra is?
high sierra and sierra granda were just higher trim levels

what is the clutch not doing. that truck has the hydro setup right? if it does check your lines, bleed the clutch

it's got the Hyd setup... I have bled it from every place there is multiple times... it's like when the pushrod comes out, something is stoping it... with the system all sealed up the pedal stops halfway to the floor, but as soon as I crack a line to bleed it, the pedal creaps to the floor. so it seems to me that something is stoping that pushrod from going as far as it needs to

well if the pedal stops halfway to the floor it should have pressur behind it then. check your fork and pivot ball make shure they are ok. next i would take the inspection cover off and look in at it while someone is pushing the clutch for you. you will prob. need a flashlight and a small mirror to see it all. sounds like it's inside as long as you have pedal pressure.
