I am putting an nv4500 in place of a 700r4. What clutch should I use in this application? Centerforce told me to not use one for a small-block. Thanks, Scott

I'd start by looking at what came stock with a NV4500 in a diesel. Sorry I can't name one for you.

Same clutch that would have been used for a 6.2/SM465 combo works just fine. I used a Hays "Diesel Super truck" clutch for mine (specific to the 6.2/6.5). It's 12 1/4" diameter and has a pretty heavy diaphram, it's aimed towards the puller crowd. Even with a hydro clutch it feels a bit heavy, although nowhere near as bad as the manual clutch with the old three finger clutch. It's not grabby like a lot of the centerforce clutches can be.

The NV4500 uses the same 10 spline 1 1/8" diameter input as the SM 465 did.
