Now that the 8.1L swap in the Polar Bear Suburban is 90% complete the old 5.7L needs to find a new home. Exact mileage on engine unknown. The truck had 142,000 miles on it but the engine looks like recent reman. It ran like a top before removed other than gutless in a ¾ ton 4x4 Suburban although it used about a quart of oil every 800 miles or so. After removing the engine I found the intake leaking which could be a contributing factor to the oil consumption. I would recommend replacing the intake gaskets, which I may have time to get installed by the time someone buys this. I’ve had the truck for 2 years and about 10,000 miles so if I were to guess, I would guess this engine has around 30 to 40K on it, if not less.
Sale includes:
Engine (tuned up 10K miles ago with all AC Delco parts, new water pump and serp belt then too)
Accessories (alternator, P/S pump, R4 A/C compressor, which works great)
Manual trans flywheel
Engine harness
ECM with your choice of proms (ECM from the Burb had a manual trans but I also have an automatic trans PROM on hand from a different 1989 Suburban)
Exhaust Y-pipe
Starter
Factory square body air induction piping
Engine Dolly
$1200
Also have the radiator and fan shroud for a little more for an 81-91 square body. This would make a great power plant to repower an older carbureted rig.
Local pick up only. Not interested in shipping it.
