Got my two 20# co2 tanks, now I need a regulator. Thinking about the fixed psi regulator for simplicity but I hear they may freeze up.

If I do a beer regulator then I only can get 60psi which wouldn't run air tools very well.

Whats every one running?

I suspect most anything you get is going to have frost problems with high flow. The Norgen regulators we used at the Coke plant would go up to a couple hundred PSI. The carbonators ran at 90.

But, if a check valve failed, or a line started leaking a lot, the reg turned into a big lump of frost.
Didn't seem to bother them though.

I do not plan on running grinders or cut off wheels from it. Probably an impact to take lugs off if needed and fill my tires if needed as well. I think i'll try a fixed regulator and a beer regulator, and see which one works the best.

I forget the brand I have, but it the fixed one. I don't have a compressor so I use my 20lb tank a lot. I know, I really need a darn compressor. I use it a lot for filling up tires and using the impact. After some good use, it does frost up. It has never froze though. It ices up the valve and about a 8" of hose, but it doesn't freeze shut. I like it a lot. Works great.

away from the shop I use a nitrogen tank and regulator.....
runs my air guns all day.....but then again we have these delivered to the jobsite.....:woot:

Unless I find a good deal, gonna run a 125psi fixed. Just going to add a tank pressure gauge.
