Been wanting to put a CB in the Blazer and a neighbor was gonna throw away an almost new Cobra 138 XLR radio...Iv'e done a little research and have found out its a late 70s early 80s era, but that seems to be the only info i can find....
..Can anyone tell me if this will be a decent radio to go with or will i be better off finding a newer model 29 or something like that ??
I plan on running a K40 antenna mounted in the center of the cab roof.
any help or advise would be greatly appreciated ..thanks !!

if it was never used, it will be ok. Some people like the older ones because you can "peak and tune" them for more power (they are only suppose to put out 5 watts legally). Your only trade off will be features and quality, a newer one will have better sound and more function. I have both of them, a older galaxy that is stronger on transmit, but a new cobra that is sensitive on receive.
