I got offered a cobra cb no antenna. Its from 98 and looks to be in good shape. I cant find a model number but it does say sound tracker on it. Also 25wx st. Did a lil work for 40 bucks and wanted to know if its worth it

its worth 40.00 bucks
new it was close to 150.00

25 is the model #

WX means it has the weather bands

ST is designates "sound tracker"

This is the Current version of that radio . with the exception of the "night watch display" they retail for a bout a 130.00 and they never come with antennas I would recommend a Wilson 5000

got a guy I work with that has some firewhips he could hook me up with. Not sure what to offer him or maybe just save for a new one?

not to drag this too off topic, but does anyone know how well, and how durable the newer "nightwatch" feature is?

Very durable I've been running a 29 series NW for going on 8 yrs now and its on when ever the ignition is on

how well does the nightwatch look, as far as, "I wish it was the black version all the time" kinda thinking..... both silver and black look good?

nah, I know, but do they both look good... visible and all that....

oh lol yeah they both look really good very visible. and they have a built in dimmer .

The New Cobra's have Blue lit displays

so im hoping there is a power cord for it. I have seen kits but What do I need? and should I look for used or buy new?

I run a Cobra 148GTL ST and i run a Wilson 5000 Trucker antenna and very pleased with it. I've had this radio for about 7 years and i ran the same in my rig that was stolen 9 years ago.

You can usually pick up the power cord at Radio Shack or Fry's Electronics and if you have a truck stop near you they will have one as well.

X2 on the power cord there available at any just about any truck stop
