Code 12

Ok, So I went to lock the truck up and notice the engine light comes on. So I go get a paper clip and check to see what code it's flashing.I know that when you check for codes it will flash 1 pause then flash 2 but it keeps flashing code 12 over and over. what should I do?

code 12 is the "welcome to the computer code"... it'll flash each code 3 times, 12, 12, 12, whatever error codes there are, then 12 12 12... if it is only doing 12's, theres no error code stored.

oh ok. cause this was the first time the engine light came on in over a month. Last time it was a code 42. thanks.
