Code 44?

I am having an intermitent Code 44 with my TPI system. What should I be looking for as the problem. Book says it is lean 02 reading. What can cause this? It comes on for awhile and then will shut off. Thanks

I had the same type of code on my truck a few years ago. Changed the sensor, all was good.

That is what I was thinking. I was going to do it anyway because my sensor is a little old.

On my 88 when I was getting a Lean condition it was caused by a plugged fuel filter. It couldnt provide enough fuel at highway speed thus it was going lean.

mine is/was doing it at hard acseleraation which made me think of the same thing got the o2 sensor in the rig gotta do that today and the filter. /forums/images/graemlins/doah.gif

If I'm not mistaken, O2 is ignored at WOT, not sure why you'd throw a lean code with it at WOT unless TPS was jacked up. /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif
