Yeah the wire looks like a funky faded red, and the book called it pink, so I just went with it.

I didn't know about the tach wire just sitting there. Looks like I am gonna hook mine up to that.

Okay, so sorry it has taken so long to post up again but I solved the starting problem.

I borrowed an ECM off a guy with an 87 TBI 305 in his jeep. I plugged it into my truck, and I could hear the fuel pump start up immediately, and the engine fired right to life. No hesitation at all.


But it didn't help out the CEL problem. So that is still something I have to fix.

I just wanted to keep you guys posted.
