I picked up a S-10 Blazer for my younger brother and it stalls out at half throttle and the "Check Engine" light is on. I've heard that you can get a code by turning the ignition on a off a couple of times and the Engine light will blink, giving you a code. Can anyone help me with this?

Thanks

S-10 stalls

What year is the S-10 ?

The on-off-on-off code thing only works for Chryslers.

95% of GM OBDI will be able to use the paperclip trick.

chrysler products can do the key thing and some OBDII (first year and rare).

If its pre 96 ( OBD1 ) all you need is a paper clip and locate the ALDL connector under the dash by the steering collum. Here's how:Gm trouble codes

If it is 96+ you need a OBD2 code scanner.

Turning the ign on and off is a Chrysler/Dodge thing used to bring up obd 1 codes.
