So I'm just about to the point where I'm almost ready to start this thing. I noticed I was missing the plug for the coil and tach wire that plugs into the side of the HEI distributor. I didn't notice if there were more than one plug on the dizzy I'm using, but the plug I got yesterday out of an 80's chevy (that had an HEI dizzy) was a little different. I'll get a pic of it if needed. It's just a single plug, and it looks like the the coil wire piggy backs off the tach wire. Is that normal, or do I need a different plug?

I don't know which went where, but I just used a couple female spade connectors to hook up the two wires. It was kind of an ass-pain to hook them up. Big block was very close to the firewall.

I looked for a plug to no avail, so I went the "easy" way.

I might have those plugs laying around let me see tonight and ill throw a pic up for you. If I have them and you need em they are yours.

NAPA may be able to get you the plug and connectors if you want to make your own rather than splicing to a pigtail.

I've used them for a couple of other connectors.

There are two connectors that plug into the distributor cap. The one closer to the coil is for the ignition module. Then on the outside is the "hot" wire which is the one you describe above. The tach wire is seperate and usually doesn't have anything plugged into it unless the vehicle came with a tach.

I think I've seen the connector in the "Help" section of your local parts store.

Here is the plug that I got off the blazer at the junk yard.

I have another plug that my buddy gave me (think its the tach plug), maybe the white plug thats plugged into it is the coil + plug?

If this damn weather would get better I'd be able to get something done!
