colbystephens' build thread. NEW TOPIC: Post #s 19 & 29

well, the a/c isn't operable, most of the stuff for it is missing anyway. 115* and no a/c doesn't bother me a bit tho. :wink1: never used my a/c when i lived there. :)

ofcourse, the cheaper option is to just strap it on and live like you've got a pair!

:D

I have a nice pair, I just don't like em getting all itchy and sweaty while I'm wheeling :wink1:

ok dudes, i've got a plan for spring break. i'm going to pull my engine out, steam clean the engine compartment, fix the leaking seals on my engine and transmission and get it super cleaned up.

now, what's the best way to do all this? tips? where should i start looking as far as the type of place which would rent a heavy duty steamer out?

i will also probably be doing some wiring projects while the engine compartment is open. how can i determine what guage of wire is needed for any given situation?

I was considering removing all the A/C stuff from the engine compartment too - will it leave a gaping hole? what will i need as far as that goes? i think there's a tech article about that which i need to find.... :)

thoughts? tips? pads?? ;)

This is EXACTLY the road that I started on that led to my Blazer body sitting on the side of the house and my frame currently in my front yard (the neighbors love it!) Be VERY VERY careful. :D :doah: :D

Fuse Boxes

OK, so i'm looking into doing some things to get my electrical straightened out. i'm thinking of doing a secondary fuse box to run all my auxiliary functions off of. so, in looking into these fuse boxes, it seems all i can find is something to replace my OEM stuff, and thus i get all the extra stuff like flashers, horn etc which i'm sure drives the price up. i saw a real simple fuse box at the parts store today, but the guy steered me away from it... i'm thinking he was trying to upsell me. any thoughts? i just want a simple fuse box to run all my auxiliary stuff too...

Yeah, Painless has numerous fuse blocks in all different sizes. I used one on a guy's 'yota build and it worked out well. :thumb:
