Hey Guys,

So, now that i sold my 94 Blazer, my burb is my primary truck. I'm starting to have more and more money invested into it, and am wondering if i should pick up collision in my insurance.

I always figured that if i wrecked it, there isn't much between the $1000 deductable, and teh $2500 value they will probably want to place on it to total it. But now that i've probably got $6k into it....and could probably prove a higher value....i'm just wondering.

Who has a nicer older truck? And who carries collision? Me having collision on this truck, if i happened to wreck it, would probably determine if it was fixed or of i "upgraded" to a newer truck. Especially while unemployed. I can probably afford to carry collision, but not to repair it if in a "major" accident.

So what say the brotherhood?

I pay 60bux a month for full coverage on my 84 K5. I dont know how they assess value but all I can say is keep all your receipts from every lil thing you do to it, including parts, labor, upgrades, etc.

Yah, good point. I don't keep many small receipts, but also have everything in quicken......so that helps!

Insure for a value, someone hit me in a zuk that was heavily modified. Not my fault. Didn't hurt me but the everytime I gave the insurance company receipts they came up with a reason they were not valid.

Insuring for a value is the only way to make sure you get what you have into it.
