Colorado Crew Pics

Thank god you didn't tow anything with it

Actually I towed Jet Skis around this past summer  But towing 1,000 pounds and getting a good running start to pull out a k5 stuck 4 feet deep in a mud hole are two totaly different things :D

Great pics guys............good looking wheeling location. Whish I was there..for a visit!

"good running start" = 15mph at full stretch. Sproing - snap! :D

Like I said when you did it, Nick "You ARE the Man!" :D

More Pics

This is the whole roll minus the ones I already put up. There are 69 more various pics. I just got time to go through them, had to work a contract today. Highlights are rock pile that almost claimed my gas tank, mudhole that got B_to_C / ktdesco / mrK5, the rock garden with B_to_C & ktdesco, some posing and John's awesome spotting. When you see how close Kevin's K5 is to the rock on the way out of the Rock Garden you'll know why John is so valuable to have on the trip.

You can look at them individually or select slideshow and the time between frames you want. Enjoy our awesome good looks! :D

ha-ha Dave.

Want to sell me your Blazer? I'm in the market now.
Why? Don't think your truck is capiable? Check out the PU shots HERE
Besides, I don't think you could afford what I would want for it  .
More great pictures too.
Nick, I still think that rusty thing was ready to go anyway.
Better to do it there then to watch you skis pass you on the road

Well Gerri is sitting here with me.

She says that after seeing what a junk pile it came from, how much we put in it, how nice it looks now, she has a hard time watching me reduce it to a junk pile again.

Seriously my only issue was length, the K5's had an advantage on me with the shorter wheelbase. That was my opinion by observing. In the bad spots I bottomed out more often.

I don't know, we'll see what happens over the next few months. You know how marriage is, all about negotiating. Oh yea, thanks for the pick-up pics.

You will get into spots where the added wheelbase of a truck will kick the hell out of a K5. It may hurt you in some area's but it can help you in others. There is no perfect wheelbase. Pickups just need to be built a little different, driven different, and spotted different then K5's. There are alot of obsticles that would make a K5 guy wish he had 130" wheelbase like a longbed. Especially in places like Moab.

For in tight wheeling in canyons and stuff a longbed can suck bigtime but in other area's the longbed can kick some ass.

Hey Harley.

When you say built differently, can you give me an idea of what your talking about. Now I'm curious to know.

A little more lift, a little more tire, beefy center skidplates/dragplates, etc.

You gotta get a little more height then a K5 to help with the belly drag that longbeds have, and you got to have a good plate to drag on.

One thing that I think would be cool to do with a pickup like that is to clock the transfer case to get you that extra clearance.
