Column automatic shifting mechanism

Hi everyone I got a 88 gmc jimmy sierra classic and I was wondering how to take the automatic column mechanism out because I bought a b and m shifter kit and I wanna to replace it with that thanks if anyone has tips or anything it be a big help thanks
 
Punch the pin out of the shifter, and remove the handle.

but you must lock the linkage up on the engine bay side or you will not get the key out .

easy to fab a little bracket out of flat metal . 1 hole to linkage were rod use to be then 1 hole to the speedo cable bracket stud on the firewall.

I had a b&m unit in my first truck . it sucked quality wise and every time I wanted reverse or drive extra crap to get there . wished I had never done it in the end .
