Ok I’m do LS swap soon but first I’m adding stock ac to a non ac 78 blazer , need any info on Tilt -cruise - wipers that came out of 85 . I took complete wiring harness from 85 to go wit column any hep / advise on swap would be appreciated thank u

Did you take the complete interior harness, as in fuse panel and all?
What about the under hood and front light harness?
If you got all of that, it should be fairly simple. Maybe have to look at headlight plugs if the '85 had quad headlights vs the '78. Nothing complex there.

I will tell you that the headlight switch moved in the dash structure when the wiper controls moved onto the turn signal lever. I don't remember if it's easy to cut and weld to relocate it. Never tried it and I can't remember what things look like. I just know that trying to swap the gauge bezel and cover where the dash mounted wiper switch is doesn't work with just a bezel swap.

Yes I took everything because I’m doing power window and locks - I have one from 87 and 91

But they are D style and mine is spline

Using the intermediate shaft that matches the column will take care of that.
The rag joint should bolt up. They are "keyed" by means of different bolt sizes to the intermediate shaft, FYI. The double D on the later column will flip 180*.

You can search for the Jeep intermediate shaft upgrade, too. I believe that it's an XJ shaft. They need collapsed a little bit, though. Some melt the nylon with a torch. I used a dead blow hammer, (IIRC).

You can also check prices for aftermarket shafts and U joints.

Thank you I will search

Be aware that you need probably 5 harnesses in the interior. Each door has a harness and then there is a center window/lock harness that plugs into the fuse block. There is the main interior harness (that includes the fuse block) and then there is a separate harness for the HVAC, which includes vacuum lines and extends through into the engine bay. The door lock connectors changed in 1988.

I just went through this, but only the harness replacement part. https://ck5.com/forums/threads/80s-...-housing-etc-fire-damage.348502/#post-4361783

The only wires I didn’t get we’re going to back window everything else I strip completely bare in that truck

You can keep your original wiring harness and splice in the dimmer switch to column pigtail for the least amount of work. However, if you do swap in the whole harness, it will require repinning your underhood harnesses to match or vise/versa. I would run with the newer harness for better fuses if it was my truck but I am not afraid to read the wiring diagrams to make things work together.

Power windows and locks is a standalone harness that draws power from the fuse panel. Your old fuse panel does have spade terminals you can use to plug it in. They may not be fused like the 85 harness though so you want to be aware of that and consider if you need to add a fuse for that route.

I’m wondering what anyone’s opinion is on Nappa evaporator and heater core anyone have good luck with those

Well, I do have two harnesses one from a 89 or 91 suburban and one from the 86. I don’t know if one is better than the other and also does anyone have any schematics or routing to help make it easier? I did it a while ago and should’ve taken more pictures

I’m not sure if you saw the beginning of the thread but it is going to be an LS swap I don’t know that I’ve done very good posting

I did see that. The factory truck wiring will run everything but the motor/transmission and you will likely be stripping down the LS harness to work as an add-on. I am no help on the LS harness side yet. The TBI harness just has extra circuits you don't need compared to the carb harness. Both can be used, one just has more wiring you may want to eliminate than the other.

Thank you very much. Yes I am researching the LS wiring. There’s a lot of info on lsswap.com for that side of it thank you very much for your help.

I know I’m kind of jumping around, but does anyone know what would be the right condenser to use for the LS swap? Everything is going to be on the passenger side is the one out of a 91K5 right style to use

Use a parallel flow replacement for '91 K5. Spectra makes it. I recommend waiting to buy it until you are ready to install and charge the system, just in case there are any issues with it, you can file a claim immediately. I didn't have a problem with mine, but they are made overseas and not high quality.
I used a blue Ford orifice tube with 134A.

I wouldn't stay with the terrible R4 compressor like the original one on these. The replacement ones seem to be very bad about failing or the front seal leaking the freon out.
I went to a Sanden style and had to have custom hoses made, but it has been working good for several years.

1982 and up had the condenser fittings on the passenger side.
