Im looking at a kit like this for my dd, and Im not sure what to make of the part where it says Piston Head Volume (cc)+5.00cc

The pistons are listed as flat tops with 4 valve reliefs, which should make the chambers smaller due to a stock piston that has a slight dish. I want to keep a stockish compression ratio to keep the EFI happy, and be able to use pump gas.

Is +5.00CC's like subtracting a negative pretty much then? creating a much smaller chamber?

And Scott, anything you know about ford windsor strokers would be of great assistance.

Thanks.

+5cc's means that the valve reliefs will add 5cc of volume to the combustion chamber.

A negative number would mean a domed piston that would decrease chamber volume.

OK thanks, Ill have to start playing around with one of the compression ratio calculators to figure which one I need.

Looks like with the stroker crankshaft I need +16cc pistons to get down to the 9.0:1 static compression ratio.

with what Ive found with decent stock heads and mild cam, on an otherwise stockish EFI engine... I should be looking at 400 ft lbs and 290 hp at the crank. Or so the desktop dyno sheet I saw said.

Should be plenty fun in a light 2wd half ton.
