are the front spindles on a 3/4 ton the same or different than a 1/2 ton? And if they are the same, are the bearings the same also? And lastly, are the knuckles the same or different?

Spindles are the same, knuckles are the same, calipers are the same, (except for the different brake system, which uses a different pad) the different parts are the brake backing plates, hubs and rotors.

DIFFERENT PAD ?
I installed my 1/2 ton calipers with 1/2 ton brake pads right onto my
new 3/4 ton rotors and backing plates, and all fit well. should i be expecting a problem ? do i need to go buy 3/4 ton brake pads ?

no, all i am saying, is there IS a different style for one of the other braking systems on the Chevy truck, i honestly don't know what it is, someone on may know, but this "other" brake pad has two big ear type things towards the top, and goes into a totally different caliper.

For the most part, you use the 1/2 ton style pads though.:D

here, i found a pic of thos other style pad,,,

cool .

as for those pads in the pic, they look nothing like mine.

Of course, this is all assuming that you have a 10-bolt or a newer D44.

Older D44 axles have different hubs and spindles, as noted in this article.

If you needs hub/rotors and backing plates, check this thread.
