i know that a lt4 hot cam will work in a 87 or later block. i need to know if it will will work with my stock vortec computer.

throttle body engines were mass airflow engines, meaning that it will respond to the increase in measured airflow. MAF systems are far more accepting of modifications. you should be ok, but youre definatly better off having the PROM reburned to take the new cam profile into concideration.

You will need some mods to make that cam work.
First it has to much lift for vortec heads. You will have to have the heads machined to accomidate the .525 lift otherwise you will have bad coil bind.
I dont know about the ECM. It is MAF so it should be able to run that cam.
Doubt if you can use all the power that cam will give. Unless you have an aftermarket MPFI.
Your truck has CFI. The Injectors are barely good for a vortec 350 with a set of headers. I know of no aftermarket larger injectors for CFI
I dont think they will feed enough fuel for that cam unless you get an adjustable FPR and turn up the fuel pressure.

good catch thunder, he asked about the computer so i forgot to think about the engine itself. normally for anything up to .500 lift, there are beehive springs from compcams that will allow you to get away without machining the heads at all, but with the HOT cams .525in lift, youll probly at LEAST need to machine down the valve guide.
