complete awesomeness (Matco)

yeah, for a crowbar thats nice, but sometimes that wont work in the ottermotive field

I have one of those tove style ones.. It's like 2'.. I basically use it for the fulcrum end... Quite handy in many boat situations, from aligning motors to demolition work...

Hey have you gotten any of those cordless, rechargable soldering irons ever? Curious as to if they're decent or junk.. think they're rated at 50 amp 700 degrees..

Getting sick of my butane ones igniter cr*pping out on me....

all i ever used to solder was a butane torch with the torch end, but ive heard the cordless rechargeables aren't necessarily good, and some people like them

I know this is hijacking but the cordless ones suck for soldering. I dont think I'll ever give my weller pencil tip away.

yeah, I'm in the market...

They where awfully cheap in the catalog, had me nervous...

Think I'm gonna go with a big old school plug-in... Looking at the D550 from Weller...

I have a Weller 40W pencil(leftover from my R/C racing days), that I plug into a rheostat. Works for everything up to 8G. With the wattage turned down you can solder telephone wire easily. I think I paid $10 12 years ago.

and yet I got the wheels rolling on a Matco toolbox today... hes working up prices and packages for me, for next week.(his laptop literally committed suicide right in front of me today, haha) Thinking it will be a triple bay. See what he comes back to me with. They are having some 10% off the box if you buy an accessory(hutch, lock, etc) and 10% off the accessory as well. So he is working up options, like with a locker, with a hutch and top cabinet, etc. Why am I doing this crap to myself? I purchased a Matco "Master" Balljoint press today. If it is similar in size(he didn't have one on the truck) to the BJP1, it will not even fit in my box. Let alone if it does fit, its going to take up a drawer that is presently full of junk. Running out of room already.

Just felt like posting that stuff. I just really hate our Snap-On and Mac guys, ha. Enough so that I could see my way to purchasing a Matco box. Especially when Chris told me he'd give me a stainless top for free if I buy a Triple.

do what you must... i have one shop in my route overrun by matco boxes... but their dealer is getting them hard, offering them astronomical numbers for their junk trades and they're paying more for their matcos than i can sell a snap-on of comparable size to them for, without a trade..DOH shop around is all i can say..

I am going to get prices on Snap-On and Mac but looking mainly at the Matco stuff.
