Complete LS1... seriouslly where to get one?

Anyone have or know where to get one? I know there are junkyard like places that deal strictly in LS1s, LS6s, and LT1s. I've pretty well decided the next project will have an LS1, and for the 6k GM wants for a new one with computer I could get a used one, stroke it, cam it, and do some other stuff and make a lot more power.

thanks but a member here informed me about a salvage yard in my area that deals strictly in Vettes, and Fbody cars so basically exactly the kind of place I am looking for /forums/images/graemlins/thumb.gif

you must have failed to notice I said, NOT the GM performance parts one. The highest I have seen for an LS1 salvage is about 4-5k and thats with a trans and full harness. $6 for a new one holds nothing for me. I would just pull the came and other parts off and trash them anyway, feel a lot better about doing that to one I'm not ruining some warranty on a new one or replacing brand new parts.

i agree with you.... 6k is alot of money. for 7k, you could just get a frekin brand new LS6.

thats the other thing, think it will get an LS6 intake, some ported heads, lots of hop up stuff. Definetally be making more power than a Z06, in a tube buggy /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif.
