My shop was unable to get any readings at all from the computer hook-up plug and had to do everything old school when I brought the Blazer to him after doing everything I could to tune it up. He ended up making only one adjustment, the two fuel mixtrue screws on the carb, and said everything else was good. But he could not put it on his big diagnostic behemoth using all the different hook-ups he had. Does that mean my computer is dead?

I don't know how much those 84-86 GM's computers did, I am assuming you have the Computer Controled Carb and Electronic Spark Control distributor.
If the truck is running good I wouldn't worry much about it.
I hated those engines, I had one in my 86 olds and I ended up just throwing the towel and got myself $150 for the car at PNP.
Give me a regular Carb or a TBI but this CCC and ESC crap was good for nothing, not even reducing polution.

I don't think those even had OBD...

I'll second iceman's sentiment on the CCC carbs and ESC distributors.

Yeah those carbs are very cantankerous. I did find one without paying $550 like they list for retail. National Carburetors...

Until I can get this...

A guy can dream...

For about $150 or less you can upgrade to the tried and proven TBI.
Legal, good manners and there is always someone wanting to sell it for around $100-150
And if you have problems all parts are available off the shelf anywhere you go.

That's a great price. Sounds like great advice too.
