I've been looking around pretty hard for a 3d computer model of first gen trucks or blazers. I've been able to find one for later blazers, but nothing for 69-72.

Anyone know where I might find something even close? I need it for planning some cage work.

could you post links to where you found the newer trucks models? and what program?

that would be of great help to me in the near future

thanks

those are pretty cool, i was thinking like a solidworks/autocad file, but sweet nonetheless.

what are you using it for?

Those links are usually used for video games and computer animation stuff, but they are usually made from factory blueprints so they are at least somewhat accurate. You can import them into different CAD programs to use.

I want one to use in planning a roll cage that looks and fits similar to a factory hardtop from the outside. I may have to construct my own, but I was checking on any existing ones.

I'm thinking of scanning in the factory drawings from the assembly manual and make my own models. It's cheaper and I know it'll be accurate. You can have a copy of them but you'll have to switch to a first gen. :deal:

I have a few of first and 2nd gens, but the hard this is that comp caught on fire. I don't really have a way to pull the stuff off the hard drive.

I made this one

here is a 1st gen k5, never mind the wheels. I was just curious of a blacked out slammed k5 would look like. :haha:

I think this guy's work is true 3D? Doesn't mention it beyond calling them 3D renderings in his web site....

I only can do 3D relief stuff in my ArtCAM program, used for CNC'd signs and other such stuff. I did a so-so version of my dad's Dodge truck wheel (2nd photo), needs more work + I need more practice. Ignore the lack of realism for the wheel sides, ArtCAM doesn't work that way. I'll get SolidWorks to do more complicated 3D stuff later.

I'd be very interested in getting a CAD model of a 2nd Gen Blazer ('91 preferably :D). I know a little about CAD (I took a week-long Pro-E class four hundred years ago :o), but I don't have the time to figure it all out again and then do both a real and virtual build. Any info would be much appreciated. :waytogo:

That blazer looks great from here! If you're interested, I have the equipment to copy the drive and burn a CD or DVD for you with the contents?

You can also get a little USB hard drive adaptor for under $20 and do it yourself.

Im thinking I can borrow my neighbors computer and go about getting the stuff off that way. I will let you know in a few days and see whats going on.

Did this ever go anywhere? I'd be willing to "grease the skids" with a small amount of cash if that helps.
