RPO codes in the glove box are where you'll find that info. dont have a link handy but google 'gm RPO codes' for a list of them

Yeah, the VIN itself doesn't contain that stuff; all it tells you is

Country: USA
Model year: 1988
Drive: 4WD
Engine: 350 V8
Series: 3/4 ton (20/25)
Body: Suburban
Plant: Flint
Serial #: 190756

Assuming it's unmolested, the glovebox codes will hafta do.

A chevy dealership's parts department might be able to tell what it had for options by the VIN number, but probably only things like which transmission, axle ratios, and engine size, they probably wont be able to tell you if it had A/C or power windows,etc...you used to be able to send away for a reprint of the options list years ago for a VIN,not sure how far back their records go though..

I can run your VIN when I get into work tomorrow and give you all the options

Thank you!

I think this thing spent much of its life in the southern New Mexico sun (and gritty wind). None of the printed placards are legible at all, door frame, glove box, etc
