connecting the two main brake lines

I started on my brake lines today. Got the two done to each drum, and the drop line from the frame. Now I`m at the main line, going from the drop line in the rear, to the front splitter. It`s in two pieces, with male fittings on either end. Is there a special fitting required for this? I don`t remember what it looked like when I ripped the originals out.

That looks like a compression fitting no? To be honest, I`m not even sure what it would look like. I just assume there is some type of fitting to connect the two lines.

Looks like an inverted flair fitting to me. just find the one that's for your brake line. 3/8",5/16" etc.
