Long story short, getting married in August and my poor unlucky bride to be has zero idea about this. But she’s stated several times she wants a k5 one day so she has her own truck to tinker on and wrench with me.

So I’m considering buying a starter k5 to
Surprise her with as a gift.

Would it be reasonable to think I could find a running setup that’s not totally rusted to pieces for 2000-3000?

Seems everything I find in my area is either rusted totally out or guys think they’re worth 6000-10000 and they still have issues. I would just like to see if I’m even being realistic thinking I could find one for my price. Trucks are a dime a dozen but it seems like decent k5’s demand a little more money.

A buddy just found an Arizona truck parked in a san Antonio parking garage for the last decade 85 for 2500 bucks and drove it home. They do exist still but man they are hard to find for a good price. You're gonna have to look around west Texas. They are still cheap there.

I’ll keep a lookout. I traded a four wheeler for mine.

Wow no joke.

We’re currently in the process of moving but hoping after this I’ll be able to get on the hunt a little more seriously. I have a feeling it’ll be one of those things where I’ll need the cash ready to go and have to act pretty quick.

Pretty much.
I never buy when I want, I buy when I find a good deal.
You have to be patient.
I hesitated on really good deal on a 90 suburban Silverado with a mild lift only problem was a busted window and non functioning tailgate window $1000, 10 miles from me.
I still find deals, not everyone has seen the barrett Jackson auctions

That’s the plan. Figured between now and then I had a decent chance of finding something decent. Just wanted some reassurance that I’m not being unrealistic.

Also considering the fact I may have to load up and make a haul to go get one

This last sentence is a fact! Be poised and ready to pounce. Good luck my friend.

I'll agree with that. 90% of Blazers I see on Craigslist have been up there for months, once in a while you'll see a good one pop up and it's gone. I pounced on a deal like that and I don't regret it

Not entirely. I like the older 70’s style but she’s more partial to the 80’s

All day long in nor-cal
