These tires look intriguing. Mostly for 20" rims. The 335/80 R 20 looks really interesting to me. 40.55" tall, 12.5" wide. These will probably end up being my replacement for the Michilen XL's when it's time to replace them.

As long as you have hearing protection, you should be good. Those look LOUD

I rode Michelin XL's from GA to CA...75-80mph all the way, 2400 miles. At less than 5mph, I can actually feel the lugs on the tires. It feels like driving on a rumble strip. At 80mph it's like a huge bumble bee, not that bad. Noise isn't a concern. Finding a tall narrow 40"+ radial tire, that is feasible on a dually is the concern. These look like they'd be way quieter than a michelin xl. lol

can you afford 1 inch more in width per tire?

I guess you would have 20s now with the xls but the procomp 40s have the highest weight rating in the bunch of newer 40s. They are available for 20s i think too. I know i just saw a dually with them a week or two ago. my pro comps on my k5 are super quiet on the road compared to others.

Thank you for the...heads up. I have some experience with these...

We used these tires in Iraq. Just like the michelin XL and XZL, they can be ran either way.

I don't care about noise. And I don't care for any of the 'off road' tires by any of the typical manufactures, not for my truck atleast. I didn't see any procomps, tsl's, bfg's, or MTR's on the mraps, lmtv's, hemmt's, strykers, lav-25 or anything other than humvee's, in iraq. Guess which tires got wasted, destroyed and replaced a LOT more? Exactly the same reason I will not ever run an optima battery. We replaced those hunks of sh!t by the dozen in Iraq. The failure rate was eye opening.

My current tires are 11.00 r 16 michelin xl.s 16" rim, 39" tall, 11 wide. I have 1.5" spacers between the duals in the rear.

I have read up on those tires Joe. They seem to be a dang good tire. Some claim huge benefits from siping.

Those really would be an awesome tire on Zeus

I was just staring at the pictures actually, imagining different patterns that could be grooved into them to make them more flexible and friendly to long road/convoy? miles. There is a Les Schawb dealer about 1/2 mile down the road from me. They have a siping machine big enough to do tires that size. Grooved + siped would be a neat combo.

You are right, I think they'd be perfect for my particular truck. I do things differently than most, think differently and have a madness to my method that most people don't jive with. I want the truck to reflect that. It MUST look military, and it MUST be something people will want to stand next to and have their picture taken with. There is a VERY specific method to this particular madness.:saweet::screwy:

I think you really have to see Zeus coming down the road at ya to truly understand this. I have seen lifted dually on 40s before but none of then screamed at my brain like Zeus did.

Maybe it's cause I like squares but that truck Definately has a vibe all its own..

My 325/85R16 XML's are wider than my 38x12.50x16.5" swampers.

Good link. Not as heavy as I expected. I think the 80's series tread pattern is a good choice. I could see these tires lasting forever.

What rims would you use?

I actually really like the bead-lock versions of those mrw's. Easier to build some kind of military replica wheel off of a bead-lock wheel.

The more I think about the cost of all of this..I'm looking at $1k+ per tire/wheel combo....x's 6. :O Perhaps a Dana 80 one day too. Ziinnng. :eek1:
