Been years since I've been on here and I'm not sure how many users are still with IFS... but I've gotten tired of snapping tie rods with this crappy lowered centerlink and I can't really afford to do a SAS till next year. I got my hands on some Fabtech Lift Spindles, yet ran into a snag. I drive a 6" Procomp lifted 1995 Tahoe, yet the spindles are for a 99+ Chevy...
Without having to do some serious machine work on the spindle I've decided to explore converting the control arms and CV to 99+ style.
Can this be done?

All references made towards this specific Tahoe in this thread is for 4x4 related parts. I am aware of the stark differences not only in the type of USE, but as well as the designs in Spindles for 4x4 and 2WD vehicles.

4x4 Tahoe rebuilt with 1999 Suburban front suspension and Diff.
First generation fabricated sheet metal control arms, not the forged ones.

Are they 2wd or 4x4 lift spindles? Your post is a bit unclear.

the spindles/hub assemblies are 4x4 specific...

Easy there partner. Fabtech makes/made lift spindles for 2wds and 4x4's.

Your front end parts, are they from a 90's square body style 'burb or a 99-06 body style Burb? Don't recall off the top of my head when they redesigned the SUV's...99 or 00.

GM has a history of updating their main vehicle before branching off into other sisters of the same chassis. In this case, GM revolutionized their 4x4 Truck in 88, but the Blazer and Suburband didn't get the change until mid 1990. They did this with the 1998 to 1999 year for the truck then standardized the changes with the Tahoe/Yukon and Suburban's in 2001. To answer this question I am looking to go from the first gen IFS to the 2nd IFS... The body style is very irrelevant as none of the suspension componentry is dependant on anything above the frame with exception to the steering design.
That being said, I am inquiring to find out if they switched the span between the pivot points of the control arm and any data concerning the bushings therein. Also any difference in the overall length width of the control.

Well, I'm going to say no as the 99+ body style suspension is all different than the 88-99 style. Same design concept but different dimensions.
