I tossed one of the conversion U-Joint's on my driveline, the one that lets you use the stock 1/2 tone driveline with a 14 bolt. It fits in there, but it will not compress enough for me to get both clips in on both sides. Is this normal? Is it ok to run with only one of the clips in? Thanks in advance.

I sure do not think so, But I guess I could pull it all apart and find out..... and no the ears are not bent

You've dropped a needle if BOTH clips won't go in on the driveline.

You definitely need both clips on. Likely you either had a needle bearing come loose on one side preventing the cap was pushing together enough, or could be just the yokes got squeezed together a tiny bit. If that is the case you need to whack it a couple of times with a hammer to seat it (lets the yoke "pop" back out).

Were you converting from a 10-bolt or from a 12-bolt?
Which conversion joint are you using?

Sorry I didnt reply last night, needles were in one side of the cap, I pulled it apart, got it all sorted out and the rear driveline is now in, kinda. Now on the 14bFF side, one side of the ujoint does not quite fit all the way in the yolk... I am thinking I am just going to tighten it down.

Make sure it's fully seated. I'm assuming you are talking about one side not sitting fully down in the yoke? A little bit of rust/grime/dirt can keep it from sitting all the way down when you just place it there by hand.

You can try just tightening it down but make you go slow and keep both sides even (don't go and just crank one side all the way tight first).

I'm doing the same conversion on my 14 bolt. I have an NP208 with 700R4 and was wondering if you had to make any mods to your driveline to make it fit the 14 bolt?

No, I did not make any mods to my driveline in order to make the conversion. I just got a conversion U-Joint from Autozone.
