Is there any such thing as a conversion joint from 1350 to 1410?

I busted another cap out of the rear joint on the rear driveshaft. I found that the current 1350 strap type yoke is not quite round on one side. This causes the u-joint cap to spin around in the yoke, and burn up the needle bearings pretty fast. I even bought some factory GM straps to try to help it. They were no real help.

Since I need a new yoke for the 14FF I figured I might as well upgrade to 1410 if possible. I can't afford a new shaft yet and have future plans for a FY205 or doubler.

nope no such thing i don't think it is possible to make because the caps between the two are the same so the only difference is the length of the center section of the joint. If your not wanting to get new shafts just get a 1410 weld yoke and run a 1410 in the rear

I could but I don't think I could make the shaft myself with vibrations.

i belive that the largest factor for propshaft inblance is the tube in blance ( i will know more in a few weeks im doing a study on this factor) so if your leaving the tube stock and just changing the yolk you will be ok, if your worried about inblance then you better get it blanced after changing the ujoint because replacing the joint affects the blance of the shaft a lot

Get the yoke and do your own welding then have a shop balance it for like $25.

DIk

There are no shops around here that I have found. I've been calling around for a few weeks. the closest thing I found was a guy that said....and I quote....
"yeah, I do that all the time. No need to balance them"
