I've been looking for a way to either "easily" convert my blazer to a truck or find a better solution to the hard top and lack of soft top options.

I saw one of these on the road the other day. fastkap
I emailed them and asked if they had a version for a 1990 blazer or if another model could be retro fitted.

the answer is no- however i pressed and asked if they had enough interest would they consider it.

here is the answer:
"Well I would need 5 minimum just to break even and a truck to do the
R&D on as well though I do have access to an early 80's Blazer. as
long as they are all the same body style.

The one trouble is we currently mount the system to the bed rail
pockets and I doubt there are any on the Blazer.

I suggested using the rail bolts reply
" That might work the trick will be how the top retracts - currently we have a fiberglass shroud that uses glass in the back for a truck, we would need to make the fiberglass bolt to the cab using the hard top nuts. The spring system also would be exposed inside the cab. let me know if you get any interest. post up my e-mail as well if anyone wants to give me feedback."

If you post something up on Colorado K-5 (I know of the site as I'm
a four wheeler) and can generate the interest I might consider it.

The price would be 1595.00 if we can make it work but thats no
guarantee we can do it.

We always say if at least 5 want them with deposits we will do the R&D.
Al"

This might be expensive for some but it could be a good solution.

I won't make a good middle man in this if there is interest so please email them directly - Al sales at fastkap

I am in no way affiliated with this company - but I thought others may be interested.

If others are interested I would likely be part of the first order.

I thought I would post along with this - not to make it a big ad for Fastkap but just real links to our web site and e-mail in case we generate enough interest in designing a Fastkap for Blazers. The message board system won't allow me to post links quite yet but put the links together below.

I am a wheeler (currently a TJ on Dynatrac axles towed by a 06 Chevy Duramax) as well and just helped a buddy finish his early 80's Blazer with DIY flip kit and B-52 front brackets last month. This is the truck I have at my disposal for R&D if needed.

Thanks and let me know if these caps are of interest to Blazer owners.

Hey guys,

Word to the wise... The powers that be frown heavily upon trying to advertise products or otherwise conduct business without a Vendor Membership.

Not jumping on you, just letting you know. :waytogo:

BTW, that is a rather cool item.

Do you mean one of these but for a second gen?

yes I figured it was frowned upon typical to most forums that's why when I got the inquiry I said for him to post not me he has no affiliation with me at all just wants a cap and suggested this site. If this gets taken down so be it but that won't get you caps if your interested. Its tough to market a product like this to such a small market. If I create the product with enough interest I'm more than happy to spend money on ads. time will tell...
