I've been looking for a way to either "easily" convert my blazer to a truck or find a better solution to the hard top and lack of soft top options.
I saw one of these on the road the other day. fastkap
I emailed them and asked if they had a version for a 1990 blazer or if another model could be retro fitted.
the answer is no- however i pressed and asked if they had enough interest would they consider it.
here is the answer:
"Well I would need 5 minimum just to break even and a truck to do the
R&D on as well though I do have access to an early 80's Blazer. as
long as they are all the same body style.
The one trouble is we currently mount the system to the bed rail
pockets and I doubt there are any on the Blazer.
I suggested using the rail bolts reply
" That might work the trick will be how the top retracts - currently we have a fiberglass shroud that uses glass in the back for a truck, we would need to make the fiberglass bolt to the cab using the hard top nuts. The spring system also would be exposed inside the cab. let me know if you get any interest. post up my e-mail as well if anyone wants to give me feedback."
If you post something up on Colorado K-5 (I know of the site as I'm
a four wheeler) and can generate the interest I might consider it.
The price would be 1595.00 if we can make it work but thats no
guarantee we can do it.
We always say if at least 5 want them with deposits we will do the R&D.
Al"
This might be expensive for some but it could be a good solution.
I won't make a good middle man in this if there is interest so please email them directly - Al sales at fastkap
I am in no way affiliated with this company - but I thought others may be interested.
If others are interested I would likely be part of the first order.
