So I found a hopefully good deal on a Dana 60 front. Only hold back is that it is from a dually. So what do I need to convert my SRW 14-bolt to dually width? Can i just get a dually flange and axle shafts from a dually axle (14-bolt or Dana 70)? My rear is already set up, and I would rather run a dually width set up and stock H1's. If not what am I looking at price wise to convert it to SRW width?

With a 14 bolt your options are limited to spacers. If you find a 70hd you can put 14 bolt srw hubs on and be close to the same track width as the front.

Exactly the need for spacers. Or putting the srw hubs on the wide 70hd housing. There may be other options. My 70 has 3" steel spacers to run the H1's.

So I can just buy spacers and be fine? Are we talking a particular dually specific spacer or just the normal ones that everyone buys to run H1's?

Correct me if I'm wrong guys, but I thought that the dually rear ends were actually narrower than SRW:confused:??

Cab and chassis duallys are narrow 14 bolts 62.75", Pickups with factory beds and dually rears are wide 14 bolts 73"(ribbed housings). Common SRW 14 bolts are 67".

There are actually about 5 or 6 different width 14 bolts if you include the rare and newer ones.

Well the spacers on mine are steel and three inches thick. From Arrowcraft. 5/8 studs on my 70 same on the spacers. I'm not concerned about the strength.

They are not cheap alloy or import metric spacers. But the price reflects the quality. I think nvrenuf is running the same spacers. Maybe he will see this and add his knowledge.

Which model? Any idea what they cost? I can get the axle for $700 (cheap in my part of the woods), but if I ended up spending a crap load more tpo make it work, I might as well wait to find a SRW axle.

Mine are the magnum series. I don't recall the price but less than $700.00. My axles ran $750 for a matching pair. I didn't mind spending a few bucks to make them work with the H1's.

Keep an eye out for a 70 hd rear. The 14 bolt srw hubs can be had relatively cheap.

My main concern is that I completely rebuilt my 14-bolt already, with a Detroit, gears, and disk brakes. I don't really want to start over. I may just wait.

you could always convert the drw to single. I see hub/rotor combos on ebay. If the DRW one is cheap enough, pick it up anyway:confused:

All the hub.rotor combos I have seen are around$300. I can pick up a srw dana 60 for that much. Not to mention I was going to drive 150 miles one way to pick this one up.

$700 for a 14 bolt!?!?! (hope it has a locker or some nice goodies in it). I picked up my m1008 rear for $400, I'd keep looking if I were you.

Also, the Dana 60 rear isn't as strong as the 14 bolt.

Guess I didn't read it thorough enough :draw: !!!!!!
