Does 10 bolt stuff work on a dana 44?

I have a like new 10 bolt in my shop right now. I think my 44 is shot. It was running water a lube before. A 10-bolt is just as strong isn't it? Problem is my dad was going to rebuild it and make it pretty to swap into his truck. It's not gonna happen now

10-bolt is basically GM's version of the D44. Outers are the same, knuckles interchange; insides don't interchange but are of comparable strength.

If you have a good 10-bolt, use it.
