My buddy took this while I was trimming a bracket-

I agree. It's a damn work of art. I wish I could take credit for the overall design...but that goes to my buddy Joe T. I'm responsible for a tube here and there, and we bounce idea's back and forth between us, but it's like 90% his vision.

One of the biggest obstacles has been trying to find space to mount everything. Accumulators, three huge oil coolers, two battery's, winch, radiator, gps, gas/brake pedals, spare tire, jack, fuel tank, helmet respirators, lights, shifter linkage, shifters....and make sure everything clears- drivelines, links, shocks, sheet metal etc. AND making sure everything adhere's to the KOH rule book. :zombie3:

Nice..doesn't look like it took you long to grow out thee hair and facial hair. Army regs be damned..lol

cough... safety glasses ....cough

especially with a cutoff wheel that close to your face.....should have a full face shield..... just sayin'....

Amen to that brother....mohawk and Wolverine style beard all at the same time. :pimp1: I was pretty damn tired of bein clean shaven all the time. :haha:

Full face shield? Seriously? :haha: The only time I've ever felt the need to wear one of those stupid things is while sandblasting...otherwise, no way. As for safety glasses...If I wore those, then I'd have to take my regular glasses off, then I wouldn't be able to see wtf I'm doing. :flipoff7: My face isn't as close as it looks in the picture...my head is well off the plane of the grinder wheel. Again....so I can see the line I'm trying to cut to. :waytogo:

You will change your mind if a grinding wheel blows up, Its not fun.

Just sayin:dunno:

I've had many, many grinding wheels blow up on me, and you're right, it sucks. After it happens 10 times, you learn what not to do. That grinder is my bitch...just slap'em around once in awhile, keep'em under control and they fall into line just fine. :haha:

LOL,

I dont wear a shield all the time, but do have rated glasses I use evertime.

Im always afraid of there being a nic in the wheel or it was set down and something was placed on it from smeone else?

Anyways hope you all are making progress

On the downhill slide now. Car has to be in vegas 6am monday morning for exhaust. Yesterday and today we worked on sheetmetal.

Vegas seems like a long drive from Georgia just for an exhaust. I had my glasses made out of poly carb so they were safety and I could see. Living in So Cal if I could never see women in bikini's again would suck balls

We're in Grass Valley, CA. Georgia would be waaaay to far. Joe left at 6pm tonight....has to be in vegas by 6am tomorrow. And he's been up since 6am this morning. :eek1:

I've got some pretty cool pictures of the final tear down, finish welding and reassembly. As well as pics/video of a $140K Walker Evans Racing desert car that the owner of the shop bought while down in Baja with Walker. :eek1::bow:

Took this one with my buddy Joey in the picture for scale. He's 5'9". Car has 37" roller tires. Will have 40's for KOH.

What wall thickness is that, is it only .080 or .090 since it's chrome-moly, I'm assuming thicker on anything that is in a place that could get dented often. That thing looks pretty sweet.

It's mostly .120 wall, with a few braces and small tubes out of .095. Some 1 3/4", some 1 1/2" too.

Damm, You could drop that chassis off a building and it wouldnt even hurt it. Lots of tubing!! The front axle looks wide, Is that wider than nornal? Looks awesome!
