This may be a stupid question, but my overflow reservoir busted and I am just running straight drippy hose onto the ground at the moment (come get me EPA). It is annoying because it is blowing by onto my exhaust and stinks but I can't seem to find a factory replacement for the original. It is an 86 with a 6.2, not sure if that matters. Where can I get one that is similar to the factory one? I saw the ones at Autozone/Napa but would like to get one I don't have to rig up under the hood, plus the mounts for those are on the top not the 3 posts at the bottom that mount to the wheel well. Thanks

I wouldn't waste my time on a "factory" replacement. Might just be me, but they crack in no time. I went with a thick plastic one from Summit, might have been a Jazz? brand. Dunno

I just bought one for my '91 K5 about 3 weeks ago from a local dealership - $27+tax.

Edit: if you got aftermarket be sure it's vented.

The dealerships would sell something like that. I'll check there first then. I didn't think they really carried stuff for pre-90's vehicles too often.

My '82 GMC has had a empty Prestone jug for the coolant overflow ever since I got it--original plastic one hardened up and shattered like glass...

I just used a knife to carve a hole in the jug's cap, stuffed the rubber overflow tube in it,down almost to the bottom, then filled it halfway up with coolant, and zip tied it to the radiator support...works for me!..

Good deal. I almost went with LMC but it was more with shipping than the GM part plus it would have been a Chinese/Taiwan knock off.

x2 on my buddys mud truck :thumb:

but we uses round washer fluid jug . and it also clamped in the evap can bracket of the gas engine application .

I might do some rig just until I get the new one to keep fluid from leaking all over my exhaust and springs.

Ended up throwing a Gatorade bottle in the fender well, vented it, and ran the hose unto it. If that works well I might just return the parts I ordered and get my money back. It looks fantastic and saves room!
