Went on a road trip to Midland from Lubbock and when you go from highway speeds to city speeds it spits out coolant. Is is cause the small jegs overflow can? What else can I look at. It's a new cap. Waterpump is 2 years old

Is it an over flow or is it a factory type coolant recovery system.

Our trucks are designed for coolant recovery. When pressure exceeds the cap presser the coolant expands and is routed to the recovery system. When the pressure (heat) subsides, it draws coolant back into the cooling system. Catch can is a one way system.

well its just a catch can ill order a stock one and put it on the thing

that was the only trouble it gave me on my trip to midland ran 80 down the hwy no problem stayed 200 deg temp

where does the stock over flow mount in an 82 blazer? does anyone know?

want me to see if there is one in the burb out back?

WOW!! sorry for the blurry pics, the top one is on my 91 K5 (Babe) and the bottom is on the 88 K5. the one on the 91 had a crack in it and when I touched it it started disintegrating. and the 88 is missing the cap. oh well, buy a new one for the 91 and use the old cap on the 88

to answer the question, passenger side fender liner

Thanks on 82 it's between radiator and battery tray, found pick in a book

That's where mine was on my '82 K2500--but it shattered like glass,so since 2003 it has had a plastic gallon anti-freeze jug instead of a factory recovery tank..(almost impossible to find a good one used up here!)--I just bored a hole in the cap and shoved the hose in it,making sure it was a snug fit,and ran it down deep enough to stay submerged..never had any issues with it..

I have a nos overflow bottle I can sell you if you're interested.

It's dorman brand likely. You cam usually get that same day at the auto parts house.

Not entirely sure, but I prefer the later model trucks and they all use the same. Oldest I've had where I changed one was 84. It was definitely the same as my newer trucks but no saying if they are original.
