when I was pulling my intake manifold off today I spilled some coolant into the engine I was wanting to change the oil any ways but I was wondering before I put it back together if as long as I can clean what I see and change the oil and coolant will I be ok
... this blazer I becoming a nightmare

yup, it just drops down in the oil pan anyways, doesn't actually get in between the bearing surfaces unless you run it. just clean out what you can as best you can, drop the oil out of the pan, replace with new, run. I personally would still do another oil change shortly after running for a bit just to be sure, but i'm picky that way..:D

thanks

thanks for the help I almost got the new manifold to put in now :) I need to know the size for the bolt on the bottom front pulley so I can turn the engine over to TDC so I can install my distributor correctly

The front crank bolt uses a 5/8" socket if it's the original bolt.

hmmm, you had to ask that question? :dunno:
you tear down the top end, and can't figure what size one easy to get to bolt is?:eek1:

Just a little ball bustin'.:D

But yeah like others said, drop the oil out for a change. Now that you already have it apart, be sure it goes together clean...meaning make sure the lifter valley doesn't have any scrapings/dirt in it. If you have dirt in there, I would try to pic it clean so it doesn't end up on the cam or crank.

just a little? :doah:

Welcome to CK5.com and ask as many questions as you want........that's what this forum is for!!

it was laziness to find out the bolt size because I was eating lunch and was browsing the replies. I have been at this since 8 am yesterday it started as a tune up then went into a broken thermostat bolt that I could not get out and drilled the intake too big and a little off so I bought a used intake to put on. its ready to be put on at 7:00 pm and I have to work tomorrow. so either a late night or finish tomorrow after work:dunno:

Really man, sorry to be a dick in my post.
I was just bustin' your chops some OK.
I whole heartedly welcome you to CK5 too. This place is a wealth of knowledge on these trucks.

I know sh't don't go to plan very often, so I can appreciate what you got going on here. Just try to make sure things are clean inside before you button it up. And have you verified TDC on #1?

Goodluck man!:waytogo:

I took it as a joke just ranting on :) this place is such a wealth of knowledge I'm calling it a night since its raining really hard and the drop lights are running off a drop cord. lol

Yeah, drop cords in the rain are well named.

Cause you tend to drop if you grab one...

I always like to start fresh the next day.

A word of wisdom from a guy that couldn't get his intake manifold on right. When you place the intake on, put some bolts in to make sure the gaskets don't shift on you. Not tight, but just in. Take your dizzy and put it in, doesn't mater if it's all the way down, timed, or not. It's just there to make sure the manifold is straight between the heads and to make sure your dizzy isn't off to one side. You want it centered in the hole. My dizzy gasket is barely covering the hole on one side.:doah:

yea I have had my run in with electricity one too many times. ;) But I have a question. I got the intake on. Is it ok if I just put 4 bolts in until tomorrow? so I can get it torque correctly or am I going to have to torque it with wet RTV? because it's another early morning off to work, and I don't have time to put all the bolts in and torque it tonight. Right now I have 4 bolts in 2 on each end just tight w/ a socket I am going to put the rest in tomorrow and finish it up after I get off work with some daylight :)

They should all be torqued into position while the RTV is fresh, how tight are the ones you have in, and how far apart are they spaced.

I never torque right away............put all the bolts in and tighten them flush evenly. Wait an hour for the RTV to start curing and THEN torque them down!!

there in bolt pattern is
front 12 11 4 1 5 6 back
front 10 9 3 2 7 8 back
the bolts are in 6 8 12 and 10 there as tight as i can get with a small socket wrench right now.

Then let it sit overnight and torque them tomorrow!! Maybe put 1 and 3 in also........

what i have done so far

well I got lucky today and was able to get off early enough to get her running without leaks ... but now she is running low idle and wanting to stall out when she comes to a stop a little tap on the gas and its fine but she also spit out code 33 just as before when idling after warming up and the idle is serging high low. the list of things I have done are as follows
map sensor... new
EGR valve ... new
TBI gaskets complete rebuild ... almost new :)
fuel pump and floater gauge... new
idle air control... new
intake manifold... used but cleaned
intake manifold gaskets ... new
spark plugs... new
wires... new
dizzy cap.... new
ignition control module .... new
thermostat... new
fuel filter... new
injectors x2 .... new
fuel pressure regulator (TBI).... new
oil change and filter.... new
o2 sensor.... new
tested the Throttle sensor.... working
coolant sensor.... new
I think that it for now if I remember anything else I will add it I have noticed some of the vac lines are dry rotting in spots so I'm going to pick up some tomorrow to replace.
it's still doing want it was doing before too. At speed it bucks like it's not getting enough fuel but all the lines are leak free I need to get a test kit from somewhere to test for fuel pressure. any ideas if it is not what I have replaced would be great. :)

Oh man that list looks just like mine in the Bronco II i have lol. Except double it and most likely triple the price!! haha. My buddy busted off the bleeder screw on the clutch slave cylinder on the tranny after we blew the clutch line. I tried drilling and tapping it (after i pulled the tranny for the second time, gettin good at it though, on the ground in 3 hours lol no jacks either, just manly man muscles lol) but the drill just didnt feel like going through the steel bleeder screw, it liked eating through the aluminum slave cylinder assy, so had to get a new one lol. Had it in about 2 hours lol. Maybe i can do it in an hour!! haha
