Cooling System Flush

On the SBC are there two block drains to drain the crap out of the block after doing a flush? And are the by chance brass? I didn't take a picture but they are centered on the lower sides of the block and are in there tight. not sure if rusted in or what. Need some advice before I put the impact on them. Thx.

Steel pipe plug thread factory .

Lots of times need to poke hole in sludge to get it to drain after you pull the plug is all .

These aren't something you would have to mess with too often but would putting brass ones back in or some type of drain be better than a steel?

You could do brass. I would iron with anti seize. Not enough use to justify the pet cock. Plus when you went to use it, it might be slugged up or get blocked after opening

Pipe dope is more of sealant, than anti corrosion. Teflon would be better

I had used brass petcocks with no issues.. a little never sieze and their golden

Biggest challenge will be getting them.....price may shock you....
