Lookin at the Discovery STT and S/T. Are they any good. How are they on the road and what kinda mileage can they get out of them for DD , etc.

I ran a couple sets of the Cooper STT on my company truck. I was happy with them. They took alot of abuse and held up well. I got about 35,000 miles out of mine, but they were under a 8000 lb truck that saw alot of rock and gravel roads. The tread looks like a Goodyear MTR knock off.

Cool , thanks , I can get 5 S/Ts for $978 OTD mounted and 5 STTs OTD mounted for $1090. Good prices?

Before we were married, my wife had Cooper Discoverers on her Exploder. They lasted a normal period of time (probably about 30,000), but their life ended when the two fronts almost simultaneously decided to separate treads (they were not yet balding). It wasn't catastrophic failure, just a gradual egg forming on the tread over a couple days - the weird part was both tires did it within one week.

I'm not sure which exact model they were, but basically they were as quiet and smooth riding as car tires. Seemed to do just fine in normal rain and snow, also.

I had a set of 33x12.50x17 S/T on my 04 Z71 and I loved them. They were by far the best all terain tire I have ever used. They went good in mud and rocky roads and rode good on the highway. just my .02

did you ask her what she hit with it?

I have 37x12.5x17 Discoverer STTs on my truck. They ride and handle nicely. Cant comment on miledge as I bought them used, or how the preform off road (yet).

Well, I was looking and got some prices on some TOYO Open Country M/Ts. They would be for 5 - $1191 OTD. I can also got some BFGs for $1094 for 5 OTD. I may jus go with the BFGs, it seems most of the tires are about the same price, etc.
