Copper air lines

I was looking at running copper in my garage a while back and couldn't remember why I didn't... Maybe work hardening - from the vibration in the compressor or something... not sure. Ended up using black pipe instead.

no just reg old pex water line from hardware store . . . no fancy kits.

I couldn't believe it my self and it showed 150psi max on the line he was using .

he did it up just like water but used air . . . 5-6 day a week reg auto shop .

It's what I used. Ended up being about 400' of 1/2" with ten outlets, two regulators/water separators, ten shutoff valves, fittings, and a crimping tool.....It set me back maybe $350. The best part is it only took me day to install.
To help with water.... Take a look at this http://www.tptools.com/Modular-Metal-Piping-Kits,2035.html?b=d*8092 See how they run their lines.

All horizontal lines should flow down hill a small amount in the direction of the air flow. When condensation builds inside with no pressure,it still gets to the drain. During the summer here, overnight drains can be a cup of water. After cleaned the night beforehand.

I would make the connection to the compressor with something flexible. Copper does crystallize when subjected to vibration...

yes sir flexable is key .. check out my man cavern link below and click my air compressor link . . . few good tricks to cut down noise and also the flexable lines I had made .

Yeah I had planned on having a short piece of nylon hose off the compressor going to the hard lines.

I wish I didn't live in town otherwise I'd just poke a hole through the wall and pour a pad outside and never hear the thing run lol but I doubt my neighbors would enjoy a compressor running at 3am

Wall around the pad and fill the wall cavity with rockwool insulation. Then cover the inside with homasote board. Just have to put a louvered n screened(rain n bugs) vent on the lower outside wall and leave a vent/hole higher up in the same section for it to breathe. Air will go through but the sound will be highly muffled
