I HAD ANOTHER HEATER CORE POP!!!! DARN SPECTUR CORES are aluminum. summit started making brass/copper cores. i got one friday and installed it this morning. i wish i would have taken some pics.
but i got a little exided and threw it in.

Wow, that stinks. Are they splitting where the tanks are attached to the core, or just random spots like the AL is too thin?
 
What pressure are you running on the rad cap? I popped a couple with one year with a rad cap that was holding too much pressure. Now I pressure test them in the parts store before I leave, LOTS of variance on them from the factory. I find that in my climate 12psi is plenty to keep my truck happy, the "bad" cap was a 14psi that tested at 22lbs and popped my heater core
