Worth $ to buy one? Could use from time to time at junk yards but don't want to sink to much money in one.

Anyone got a recommendation?

I have used the Dewalt 20v one, pretty good tool. Cuts padlocks like butter. Cordless has really come a long way. They also have a cordless portaband now, no sparks.

Same here, the new 20v stuff from dewalt works great. I have Probably the same grinder and it works excellent. Also have the reciprocating saw and the circular saw and these tools are great..!!

If you already have cordless drills I would look at matching the same brand so you’re not buying another charger. For the occasional use at the yard you don’t need a top of the line grinder.

I have the Milwaukee Fuel line. Like everyone else has said, great tools, little pricey but you can catch them on sale every so often.
Had the Rigid stuff prior and liked them a lot with the exception of impacts. The drive would snap.
Also, the freebie flash light caught on fire (I was pulling a gas tank at the time).

With the grinder and the portable band saw...hand tools are almost obsolete at the wrecking yard.

Got M18 drill light and 3/8 impact at home.
2 batteries and charger.

Not the fuel version so guess should find a M18 grinder that is able to use same batteries for ease of use, price and that you guys highly recommend.

Cordless sawsall was the only power tool allowed in the salvage yard I hung at,anything the customers had to get cut off by other means had to be done by employees, and we had a 55 gallon drum of water in the torch car full at all times, that had a hand pump to use as a fire extinguisher..there were summer days we were not allowed to torch anything off due to red flag fire hazards it was so dry out..we had to use hand powered hack saws or a sawsall..

Personally I've never owned any cordless tools,I hate batteries dying in the middle of a job..I'm sure the new tech is much better, but all the cordless tools friends have owned end up being scrapped due to the high cost and short life of the batteries..
